His Excellency Mr. Pierre Voillery presenting his Letters of Credence to the President of Botswana, His Excellency Lt. Gen. Dr. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, as the Ambassador of the Republic of France to the Republic of Botswana. H.E. Mr. Pierre Voillery has served in different capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of France. He has held several high level positions, including as Deputy Chief at the Cabinet Office as well as a technical advisor for European Affairs. Mr. Voillery also served as the Deputy Permanent Representative at the Organiszation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). His last post was as Ambassador of France in Guinea Bissau. Botswana’s diplomatic relations with France were established in 1967. France has a Resident Mission in Gaborone which was opened in July 2001. Dialogue and practical cooperation between Botswana and France on key global issues have been strengthened on many fronts in recent years.
