New Envoys To Present Credentials

Gaborone, 30 August, 2010 – Members of the press are hereby informed that His Excellency The President, Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama, will receive Letters of Credence from the new Envoys to Botswana from 30 August, 2010 – 01 September, 2010 at the Office of the President. The Envoys will also pay courtesy calls on the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Honourable Phandu T.C Skelemani at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Japan Donates Fire Engines And Ambulances To Botswana

 SADC fails to meet deadline

Gaborone, 17 August, 2010 - SADC has failed to reach the 2010 deadline for adopting a custom union. The Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Mr Kenneth Matambo said the ministerial task force on regional integration agreed that the protocol would be discussed further in December 2011. Zambian President, Mr Rupiah Banda said when officially opening the new Serowe Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) yesterday, that ordinary people did not understand the technical jargon of development such as gross domestic product, percentages of economic growth and value of exports versus imports. Gaborone, 06 August, 2010 -  His Excellency the President, Rupiah Bwezani Banda of Zambia, accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs Thandiwe Banda, will pay an official visit to Botswana from 09 – 10 August 2010 at the invitation of His Excellency President Lieutenant-General Seretse Khama Ian Khama. Gaborone, August 02, 2010 – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will host the Second Session of the Botswana-Nigeria Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC) in Phakalane from 2 – 4 August 2010.
